Just before 3:30 p.m. on April 26, 2022, a red Nissan Juke was attempting to make a U-Turn along South Cooper Street when it crashed into a silver Dodge Charger. The Nissan Juke carried two men both of which were transported to an area hospital in critical condition, one of which had to be cut out of the vehicle by emergency responders. Five people were inside the Dodge Charger one of the female passengers was transported from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. The Northbound lanes of South Cooper Street were shut down while traffic investigators were at the scene. At this time the Arlington Police department has yet to reveal the identities of the victims or their current medical conditions. At this time it is unclear what the investigation into the crash has uncovered, and will be followed closely by the firm. The Nissan Juke likely attempted to make an unsafe U-Turn and Failed To Yield the Right of Way to oncoming traffic.
Continuing Investigation
It is unclear if the U-Turn crash was just from not paying attention, or if some form of external stimuli was part of the accident. Without the police report, it is impossible to know for sure but due to the timing of the accident, it is very unlikely that inhibitory substances were involved. As statistically most crashes involving those take place between 11 PM and 5 AM when fewer people are on the road. Without the report, it is also impossible to tell the relation of the Nissan to the Charger at the time of the crash. Whether the car was hit straight on or if the Nissan smashed into the back of the Charger.
Whichever it might be the owner of the Charger should look into retaining the services of an attorney. Doing so would allow them to worry about healing and repairing the damage to the car, without having to deal with the insurance companies who might be trying to hound them for claims. It would also take the guesswork out of getting a good deal from the insurance companies.
