Violent Head-On Collision Causes Fiery Crash & One Death in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH – Police patrol officers found themselves investigating two unrelated traffic fatalities the evening of May 10, the Star-Telegram said.
In an accident on North Main Street near Loop 820, two vehicles hit head-on, one of them reportedly bursting into flames. Police said they were able to pull three people from the car but could not access the deceased man. According to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website, the man killed was Jose Ricardo Salcedo, 31. An investigation into who was responsible for the head-on crash and mitigating circumstances is underway.
The Star-Telegram said the second accident took place in a wreck in the 1300 block of the South Freeway. Few details were available, though police said the victim was Maria Martinez-De-Martinez, 70, a passenger in the vehicle. She suffered damage to her chest and other injuries.
